Our Work
We’re adding value to Chelmsford by helping to shape cultural strategy and fundraising for programmes
Strategy
We have commissioned the first district-wide Cultural Strategy for Chelmsford and will update these pages with our programme activities as we bring the strategy to life.
Talent
We're supporting local people to shape their cultural futures. Recently, we partnered with the community-led New Generation Development Agency to empower Choose Your Chill, a new multicultural festival held at Chelmsford's Oaklands Park in August 2024, supported by Arts Council England National Lottery funding.
Place
We’re working with the Ignite Cultural Partnership on a project for space where creative practitioners can work, develop and involve our communities.
Young People
We have developed of a Local Cultural Education Partnership, now known as SPARK!, funded by the Royal Opera House Bridge and other local partners so that all young people can access creative opportunities. We are currently supporting SPARK! in shaping a district-wide programme of activities for everyone between 2025 and 2027.
Partnership
Together with Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford City Council, Chelmsford For You, Chelmsford CVS, Chelmsford College, and Writtle University College, we’re delivering our ambitious 10-year strategy to improve the well-being, community cohesion, confidence, and pride of everyone living, working, studying, or visiting Chelmsford.
Community
In Spring 2023, we developed Number 11, The Meadows, a free space bursting with creative activities and a warm place for a chat for everyone in Chelmsford to enjoy, supported by our partners. Following its success, we have established a network of local people as Community Connectors, who will develop this work to unite communities and influence new cultural investment.
